This is for my mom! =))

(The following words came from a Filipina writer; Kerima Tuvera. I kinda edit it.)

"When you daughters, you can look at life in many ways - dowries (and sons in law); or, horrible thought, sprinters. Perhaps beauty parlors, bakeshops or grocery stores? How about dress designers and, possible, models? One used to have baby girls and then one day one looked around and they were no longer babies but little girls with dirty knees and running noses. I looked again recently and the little girls are gone: I have instead, a house, full of young women, a veritable avalanche of femaleness."

"There is some guilt in ones motherhood, remembering with what heartbreak each daughter had come, because one wanted sons instead."

"Certainly, motherhood means new dimension, a new lever of pain, another depths of heartbreak, a true heights of joy."

"When do girls stop being children and begin to be young women? When they put away their comic books and as you to buy Emily Loring Romances. It used to be when they went to the public park that they chased bullfrog and gathered fireflies in their skirts - that kind of innocence is ended for some, beginning for the others. Instead they look sideways at all the necking couples in the plaza and run home to tell stories."

"What does a mother do? If all that she had given a daughter is mere correctness not rightness, mere for not substance; veneer not reality - then all she provided her with is shadow, not soul."

"All what I've taught them is not impressive. I know. They'd be swallowed up in beauty contest, a total lost at discotheque parties, but they won't do too badly coping with the problems that a hundred million women do."

"Because I don't want them "accomplished" -  I want them experienced equipped with the knowledge that an author beautifully described as Coming not from books but by people, places, actions, a knowledge not gained by words but by touch, sight, sound, victories, failure, sleeplessness, devotion, love - the human experienced and emotions of the earth; and perhaps; so, as little faith and little reverence for the things you cannot see."

" It is the miracle of life that they learned love from me who wasn't always able to give it, who wanted only the beginning to survive their number. We live in a large musty house canopied by the ancient trees and we fight daily over the bathroom, this i'd sow, but in gay confusion, we barrow each other hair pin and dip our puffs into the same powder box - equals at last in many things, and good friends in all."

I have never been impressed by any filipino writer and write ups, until today.

This is for all the children of the world; emphasizing the beauty of a mother - her whereabouts, little joys and frills of her life being given by the most amazing gift ever - Us. A mother will not be perfect, they don't want to be although they want to shield their children from all the pain and tears they could encounter in life, of how much they want to absorb and feel it rather than us. yea, they'd put their selves instead. A mother, who wants  her children to grow and learn all the things about life.

Looking back, it must have been a heartbreak for them to let their children go out of the house and step their feet in their first days of pre school. How they worries whether their somehow grown babies will be able to cope up with a new environment. Whether they'd go home crying because a classmate took away their recess food. Just looking back.... i knew that simple thing really broke their hearts. It broke my mothers heart.

They have flaws and holes, but concentrating between me and my mom, that's when i actually see more of her heart. Whenever i call or text her sharing a heartbreak, a low score of subject exam, a lose on a pageant or other school contests; she tries to give me the most comforting words, precisely it ends up with simple advices and comforts - one which is not full of wisdom but full of heart.

Cheers for all the mothers in the world; of all your hard works and hearts which we often fail to see, and late to realize.

I love you mom.
Belated Happy birthday.
